Using Sway While Sailing

Automatic logging

The Sway Breeze starts logging automatically as soon as it receives power from the NMEA 2000 network. There is nothing to start or stop.

• NMEA data is available live via WiFi while you’re connected to the Breeze
• All data is automatically stored on board per trip
• Multiple phones or tablets can connect to the Breeze simultaneously

You don't need to have the app open while sailing — the Breeze logs everything independently.

Live data in the app

While connected to the Breeze, the Sway app shows live instrument data:

• GPS position and speed over ground
• Wind speed and wind angle (if a wind instrument is on the NMEA 2000 network)
• Depth (if a depth sounder is connected)
• Heading and COG

Using NMEA data in other apps

The Breeze also makes NMEA data available for other navigation apps (e.g. Navionics, iSailor). See NMEA for other apps → for connection details.
