WiFi Connection

The Sway Breeze creates its own WiFi network as soon as it receives power from the NMEA 2000 network. There are three ways to connect.

Option 1: Via the Sway app (recommended)

This is the easiest method and sets everything up automatically.

1. Download and install the Sway app — sway-sailing.com/app
2. Open the app and log in or create an account
3. Go to the Breeze screen and follow the on-screen steps

Note

Complete steps 1 and 2 at home before going sailing, so you’re ready when you board.

Option 2: Via QR code

The QR code on the bottom of the Breeze connects your phone to the Breeze WiFi network directly. This gives you access to the gateway function (NMEA data in apps), but without trip logging.

1. Scan the QR code on the underside of the Sway Breeze
2. Your phone connects to the Breeze WiFi network
3. You can now receive NMEA data in any compatible app

Option 3: Connect to an existing WiFi network

You can connect the Sway Breeze to your boat’s existing WiFi router, so all devices on that network can reach it.

1. Open the Sway app
2. Go to the Breeze screen and tap WiFi Settings (top right)
3. Select your boat’s WiFi network and enter the password
4. The phone will also connect to this same network

This is useful when you have multiple devices and want them all to access NMEA data simultaneously.
